What I Love... Friday? 11.1.13

How many weeks late am I with this post? Two? Sorry. I've been running around with my head cut off between having our Halloween party  (which I think was a smash!) and custom orders, and now problems with our plumbing. Just arugh. Frustrating. Here's a few things I love from the past two weeks.

Camille Saint-Saëns - Danse Macabre

\

The first thing I actually love and have been listening to (probably thanks to Halloween) is the opus by French composer Camille Saint-Saens. I remember playing and practicing this song over and over again when I was in the eight grade and an excellent flutist (second chair, not to toot my own horn [pun intended!]) I love the way it sounds like Danny Elfman could have composed it and I love how you can almost hear ghosts flying and bones clattering through different instruments as it was intended. It'll probably always be a favorite.

AmazingPhil

Amazing Phil has been keeping me company all week. Every video he has ever put out always puts a smile on my face. He reminds me of a me a few years ago. That sounds weird. He's just fun and random and colorful and I feel like I can relate a lot.

Owl To Go Mug

I found this beauty searching for my own items on Etsy (hey now, I wanted to see what page I was on and how I could modify my key words!). I love this mug and I want one in every color. I am in awe at the craftsmanship.
Merry Christmas Ugly Baseball Tee

This shirt is so fun and it totally makes me want to watch my second favorite Christmas move, Home Alone! I have a feeling that this shirt will be joining the army this season.

3 piece wall decor

I know y'all don't care about the massive empty wall space that I have in my house, but I was thinking of re-creating something like this (possibly with three different sized canvases or more) to fill them. Just a thought I've been tossing around. I really like this one and the Jackson Pollock feel it gives off.

Bath and Body Works & Spirit Store Haul

So I am a total liar and shouldn't promise things ahead of time. I ended up having some other stuff to do today  (along with going to the mall, obviously.) but tomorrow for sure I'll post something worthwhile. In the meantime, here is all the stuff I had to get today!

Here is a look at everything I snagged at Bath and Body Works. I originally went in to grab some fall fragrances, but as you can see, I got a bit carried away.

It was between this mason jar candle and one called Pumpkin Cupcake. These smell amazing. I may go back and get the cupcake one anyway!

Here are a few other things along with that candle I got. I also got another Wallflower plug. I got the owl because I thought he was perfect for Autumn and Winter and I love owls. The Wallflower fragrances I got were Farmstead Apple, Lavender Vanilla, Flannel and (surprise!) Pumpkin Cupcake.

The bins on the way to the checkout are my downfall. Completely and utterly... I can never pass up the PocketBacs. They're usually 5 for $5 so I got Hoot Berry, Pumpkin Caramel Latte, Farmstead Apple, Warm Vanilla Sugar, and Creamy Pumpkin.

Then there was the half off bin where I found this gem. I'd call it a summer fragrance but I may use it beyond summer time as it smells so sweet and yummy.

I did something I NEVER do on the way to the registers. I bought lip products. I got a Lemon Pomegranate flavored gloss, a C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve tin, and a Dazzlelicious High Sparkle Lip Gloss in Golden Caramel. It's more orange-colored and I think it will be fun to wear for fall. I also grabbed these cute kitty emery  boards (like I need any more...).

I also stopped by the Spirit Store just to see what they had and I ended up buying more stuff there. I do plan on returning as I have a friend whose husband works there and they want to get me a discount on stuff I will be getting for my Halloween party. I only got a makeup kit, some faux nails which have little stitches painted on them and are glow in the dark, some white hair spray and a lace web table cloth.

That's all for the haul!

What I Love Wednesday 8.21.13

I can't believe it's been a full week already. Ok, here goes:

ANTHONY & KALEL AND THEIR YOUTUBE CHANNEL

Most of you may recognize Anthony from SMOSH (now the second most subscribed to channel on YouTube.) About 2 years ago his girlfriend Kalel started making fashion and diy videos and I was hooked. I didn't even know she was Anthony's girlfriend until they were getting dinner one night in one of their videos and I said 'I think that guy's from SMOSH.' When Kalel figured that she wouldn't have enough time to maintain her own channel, I was a little crushed honestly, but she and Anthony made this new channel (Watch Us Live and Stuff) where they post daily vlogs, challenges and mail hauls nearly every day which makes the end of my day worth it.

MODCLOTH

I have a rapidly growing 'love it' list and rekindled love for ModCloth. They're clothes are for the most part really retro looking and they have plus sizes (I'm not plus sized, but I think that this is awesome of them, because a lot of clothing places don't offer plus sizes and I don't think that's right.) It began while I was looking for a dress to buy for this big birthday vacation Josh and I are planning next month and possibly for a wedding. Things here are a little on the expensive side, but I think most of it would be worth having

ORLY ROYAL VELVET

To be honest, this was an impulse buy at Sally's Beauty Supply. I have loved the ORLY brand of nail lacquer for a long time and have a large hoard filling a silver train case to prove it. I have applied this color twice already (instead of doing the nail tutorial I was going to do...) and I am so in love with it. It's a duo-chormatic shade of blue and purple and I love how it has the chameleon effect. I've gotten many compliments on it and this photo really does it no justice.

UNOFFICIAL HARRY POTTER KNITS MAGAZINE

Oh my gosh, can someone please buy me this magazine? I saw it at work yesterday and have been flipping through it both today and yesterday. There are so many brilliant patterns in here. There are even patterns that are Harry Potter character inspired, not just what is included in the movies. I just want to add it to my hoard, even if I'm not the best knitter yet.

SUCCAPLOKKI OWL KNITTER'S GAUGE

Is another knitting item ok, because I love this owl needle gauge. It's another Etsy find and I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen another gauge like this. This is awesome and matches everything I already own... that is owl-related. I might have a small problem. This shop also sells the needle gauges in European sizes as well as US. I may treat myself to one of these for my birthday.

...That was fast. I can't believe that's five things already! I'm off to make dinner now.
